Plate 30, Capriccio with five obelisks and a column. This image, one of twenty-nine full-page plates in the volume, faces page 47, the first of four pages with text describing the monuments included in the plate.
The monuments shown in this plate are identified in the inscription:
1. an obelisk in the Villa Celimontana (previously Villa Mattei) on the Caelian Hill,
2. an obelisk in St. Peter's Square,
3. Column of Peace, now in the Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, previously in the Basilica of Maxentius (thought to be Temple of Peace)
4. an obelisk on the Fountain of Piazza Navona,
5. an obelisk lying on the ground, which was at the Piazza Barberini before it was elevated at the Villa Medici in 1822
6. an obelisk from the Piazza del Popolo
