Group of Folded Paper Patterns for Embroidery with Naturalistic Designs for Textiles

Designer Elvira Mary Courbould [E. M. C.] British

Not on view

Group of 12 folded paper patterns for embroidery, part of a book of embroidery designs, possibly designed by Elvira Mary Courbould. This type of books would be purchased for women to engage in needlework activities and embroidery at the home, decorating a variety of textiles for interiors or to be used in the making of dresses for the members of the household. The designs in the group contain mostly naturalistic motifs, inspired on real flowers that are named on the title of the designs.
