Photo-lithograph of engravings for nineteenth-century jewelry, possibly commemorating the jewelry exposed at the Centennial Exhibition, or World Fair, which took place in Philadelphia in 1876, to celebrate the hundred years of independence of the United States. The heading of the sheet is made up of interlacing ribbons, formed around a wreath of laurel leaves, and decorated with the flags of Denmark and Scotland; the words "CENTENNIAL JEWELRY, DENMARK, SCOTTLAND" inscribed in the ribbons. Under the heading, the sheet is separated into two: the space on the left containing designs for bracelets, brooches and rings, most with naturalistic leaves, rosettes, and round or square frames with thin scrolling motifs; the space on the right contains a variety of brooches with armory shields, bullheads, and other frames of Scottish style.
