In October 1844, Louis Philippe, King of the French, crossed the Channel to make a week-long visit to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert at Windsor Castle. This image shows the king standing in the bedroom he occupied at the castle and belongs to a bound set of twenty-five lithographs published in 1846 to commemorate the journey. Related text, pp. 21-23 describes the subject.
