Not on view
In October 1844 Louis Philippe, King of the French, crossed the Channel and made a week-long visit to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert at Windsor Castle. This image shows the queen investing the king with the Order of the Garter on the afternoon of October 11th in the Throne Room, watched by the assembled members of the order. The print is part of a bound set of twenty-five lithographs published in 1846 to commemorate Louis's visit. Related text, pp. 33-35 describes the subject.
