Not on view

In October 1844 Louis Philippe, King of the French, crossed the Channel and made a week-long visit to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert at Windsor Castle. This print reproduces a ceremonial speech that representatives of the City of London made to honor the king on October 11th. Later, copies of the text within ornamental heraldic borders were presented to the king and placed in the city archives. Related text, pp. 41-42 describes the subject.
