This vase is among the earliest examples of Louis C. Tiffany’s blown-Favrile glass vessels. It, and an example from the 1986 Havemeyer gift (96.17.31) appeared in an early advertisement for Tiffany Favrile Glass in "The Art Interchange," of February 1896.
