Not on view

This N.Y. National Guard jacket, with its black mourning armband, was created Henry Poole & Company, a Savile Row tailor. Its owner, Rodman Wanamaker, born Rodman Arturo de Heeren (1909-1983), was the great-grandson of John Wanamaker (1838-1922), founder of the eponymous department store in Philadelphia. His grandfather, John Wanamaker's second son, Lewis Rodman Wanamaker (1863-1938), inherited the Wanamaker stores from his father. Heeren was the son of Fernanda Wanamaker (1887-1958) and Arturo de Heeren (1879-1939).
