Henry N. Hooper and Company American
Not on view
These lamps (see also 2002.391.1a--e) are early examples of the work of Henry N. Hooper and Company, a leading purveyor of lighting fixtures in mid-nineteenth-century Boston. The lamps are rare in retaining their original surface. Their simple, architectural design relates to the abstract classicism of the prevailing "Grecian plain style" in architecture and furniture.
