One of the major themes running through the one hundred prints that comprise the Vollard Suite is the sculptor's studio. The sculptor and his model are seen here contemplating her portrait bust. The etched sculpture depicts Picasso's young companion, Marie-Thérèse Walter, and is representative of his sculpture from the early 1930s, made at his studio in Boisgeloup.
