The German inscription around St. George reads, "Help, knight Saint George; help, God, your eternal word, the body here and the soul there." At the top is the coat of arms of the duchy of Saxony quartered with crossed swords, symbols of the elector of Saxony's office as archmarshal of the Holy Roman Empire.
Inscription: Inscribed around St. George: “hi[l]f ritter sant iorg hilf got du ewigs wort dem leib hie und der sel dort” (Help, knight Saint George; help, God, your eternal word, the life here and the soul there.)
Ex coll.: Peucker (1854) and Wilbrand (1922). Obtained privately from Dr. Wilbrand in 1922 (Receipt filed)
