Fragment of a Northwest Persian Medallion Carpet

Not on view

This knotted-pile textile fragment likely once formed part of a large white-ground Persian medallion carpet. This fragment was located towards the top of the carpet, where the diamond-shaped design served as part of a pendant cartouche to a larger central medallion.
