Standing statue of Kaemsenu (?)

Old Kingdom

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 103

This standing statue and a smaller seated one (26.9.3) were found adjacent to the tomb of the priest Kaemsenu and probably depict this man. Stylistically this statue dates to the reign of Niuserre, however the architectural context of the tomb of Kaemsenu is less clear (for the priest Kaemsenu and for his tomb, see 26.9.1).
