Not on view

Based on a self-portrait in oils of 1880 (Uffizi Gallery, Florence), this print represents Millais at half-length, holding a palette and brushes as he looks toward the viewer. The artist wears a stylish square-cut jacket and dark cravat held with a decorative pin, signaling his professional success, and in 1877 he had moved his family into a palatial Italianate residence at No. 2 Palace Gate in Kensington.
