Trade cards from the "Smoker Portraits" series (T134), issued in 1959 to promote Van Dyck Cigars. The actual cards are cut out from the sides of the original package design for Van Dyke Cigar boxes. Burdick included variations of the card series that were published as ads in contemporaneous newspapers in his original collection albums. This is a newspaper ad depicting one of the cards from the series.
