Plate 5 from a series of designs to decorate carriages and other things. This plate is presents one large design of a frieze.
The design is characterized by a medallion enclosed in a wreath of oak leaves over which is a mask with a plume. The medallion is placed on the back of two outward-facing terminal figures with wings and vegetal lower body and who hold vegetal scrolls from which jut garlands of leaves.
