Plate 29, Capriccio with view of the funerary cippi of the Praetorian guard. The oversized burial markers are set in a landscape, with groups of figures throughout. This is the fourth of thirteen plates with funerary urns, altars and cippi. Below this plate is an untitled and unnumbered image with two fragments of bas-reliefs, the top fragment showing a lyre-player at left. These two images appear after page 24, which contains a portion of the chapter describing the third and fourth plate of funerary monuments. The following page, p. 25, has a full-page in-text illustration, with the complete inscription of each of the cippus shown in this capriccio.
