16th plate of album with 60 19th-century costume plates and 1 drawing of mostly women's historical costumes, featuring a variety of designs for traditional costumes from different parts of the world, as well as costumes for literary characters. This plate consists of a woman wearing a Scottish costume, made up of matching red vest and skirt, with golden borders and white ruffles on the neck, sleeves and hem, and with a black-and-white plaid band and over-skirt. An animal head hangs from her waist, in the form of a belt, and she wears a red Scottish hat with green feathers, long, white gloves adorned by golden bangles, black-and-white plaid stockings, and black low heels with golden buckles.
