This plate consists of a costume for Gabrielle d’Estrée, made up of a violet gown in the style of Queen Elizabeth I with a white chemise with vertical ruffled stripes and a double ruff on the neckline, and ruffled sleeves, and a white underskirt with golden borders and scrolling motifs. She wears a violet hat on her hair, decorated with small, white feathers, and her face and hands are heavily made up with white powder. She holds a soft pink book in her hands, which she appears to be reading.
