Not on view

This print portrays Edmund Kean and Henry Stephen Kemble fighting one another as Macbeth and Macduff in act 5, scene 8 of Shakespeare's play. For a battle that will result in Macbeth's death, the latter wears armor and his opponent a kilt. The print was likely made by George Cruikshank and Isaac Robert Cruikshank (the brothers often collaborated around 1818 on actor portraits and other works, at a moment when Isaac Robert was establishing himself as an independent artist).
