Aeneas takes Dido's hand before a statue of Venus and Cupid set in a curtained niche with an older woman attending Dido. Faithorne's print was used in two publications,"Musaei, Moschi & Bionis, quae extant omnio," translated by David Whitford (London, 1655) and Thomas Blount's "The Academie of Eloquence" (1654).
