Holding the orb and sceptre, Charles II here sits in the chair of state between Archbishop Sheldon and Sir Orlando Bridgman (the latter figure has also been identified as the Earl of Shaftesbury). The faces in this impression differ from early versions of the print, indicating that it dates after 1677, when the plate was reworked.
