Not on view

This moonlit view of Castle Garden, accessed by a bridge from New York's Battery, is based on a painting by the American artist Jasper Cropsey. In 1856 the painter arrived in London and was commissioned the following year to paint thirty-six American views by E. Gambart & Co., who planned to published related lithgraphs. When Gambart encountered financial difficulties, the series was reduced to sixteen and this related print published in 1860.
