D’mba (great mother) figure
This representation of d’mba, depicts the embodiment of mature womanhood and maternal power. Baga communities regard motherhood as essential not simply for families, but for the entire society at large. This figure was likely used in a ritual setting to offer blessings and protection for women, children, and the land.
