Inscription: Annotated in graphite on verso of mount, Pierino del Vaga/ from the Coll. of Sir T. Lawrence/Designs for decoration of armour.

Marking: In the lower left of the recto is the mark of Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830) (Lugt 2445) stamped blind. Also in the lower left recto is the manuscript mark of Sir J.C. Robinson (1824-1913) (Lugt 1433). On the verso (on sheet to which the drawing is pasted) is the mark of Sir Robert Ludwig Mond (1867-1938) (Lugt 2813a).
