This print is bound in Volume I of Oeuvres. Jombert published his collection of Le Pautre in 1751. Volume I contains "desseins... pour la décoration des maisons, etouches, edifices;." This print is part of a series of twenty-two plates depicting mythological subjects. Although the inscription on the print identifies the scene as the Sacrifice of Iphigenia, the print depicts the Sacrifice of Polyxena, according to Préaud.
