Metropolitan Museum of Art Bulletin 4 (September 1909), pp. 156–57, ill., calls it an early work, of about 1490; suggests that the river and bridge in the background may derive from the Bacchiglione and the Ponte di Pastola in Vicenza; notes the influence of Alvise Vivarini and Antonello da Messina.
