Two Ceramic Tiles (40.181.14 and .15)

Probably originally the upper border of a tiled dado, the inscriptions on both of these tiles are from the same chapter of the Koran, separated by approximately six verses. The scrolls of the background are drawn in a way typical for Kashan luster-painted wares.
