Birds in a Landscape
This evocative composition shows pairs of storks and birds in movement. Although landscapes were unusual in all schools of Indian painting, this work from Bikaner, Rajasthan shares many qualities with seventeenth century Deccani paintings, perhaps with roots in Safavid paintings.
