Two sections of an orphery (a decorative band placed over a seam on a vestment) were used t make this panel. The dark blue silk cut velvet is appliquéd with strapwork of heavy gilt metal thread worked in a symmetrical, mirror-image design of culring shapes, floral elementsm and gilt-studded dots.
