Head of a Funerary Figure of Akhenaten

New Kingdom, Amarna Period

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 122

More than two hundred fragmentary funerary figures of Akhenaten are known. Judging from the different styles and attributes, these were probably prepared throughout the king's reign.
For other examples of Akhenaten's shabtis, see 47.57.2; 66.99.35, .37, .106; 1972.118.28; 1982.50.
