Ewer, from basin and ewer set
This ewer is from a set that also included a basin (26.9.12) and would have been used for hand washing. Since all excavated examples come from tombs, it is likely that their primary purpose was for ritual purification. Two such sets can be seen in the Tomb of Perneb (13.183.3), in a relief representing the funerary meal.
