Miniature Altarpiece with the Virgin in Glory, and Saints James and Dominic
Returned to lender
This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender. The wings of the miniature altarpiece provide clues about its original owner, the figure kneeling at the left. His name almost certainly was James, as he kneels alongside Saint James the Great as his patron. In addition, he was affiliated with the Dominican order, which promoted the praying of the Rosary. Saint Dominic appears at right, a little dog at his feet.
