Louis Jean Marie Atthalin was a French officer in the Napoleonic Wars, a Knight of the Legion d'Honneur and Grand Cross, and printmaker. This print is part of a series of lithographs produced in the 1820s in collaboration with Taylor and Nodier's 'Voyages pittoresques et romantiques dans l'ancienne France'.
