This late print by Carracci is based on a preparatory drawing now at Windsor (inv. no. 2118; 110 x 148 mm; partially incised). The composition has also been linked to a drawing at the Morgan Library (inv. no. 1878.17; 153 x 217 mm), but the connection between the two works appears tenuous. A rare example of the first state before lettering
