The set of etchings in Northern Italy, 1894-96, is comprised of twenty-six subjects. Twenty-five sets were published by W.B. Paterson, Glasgow, in 1896 in addition to a few seperate impressions. Some impressions vary greatly in the amount of ink left on unworked surfaces. This etching is number 9 in the North Italian set.
