This is the first sheet of a complete set of progressive proofs for Plate 7 from a portfolio of 10 lithographs relating to the Mayan book, the 'Popol-vuh', a sacred text about Creation written in the Quiché language. The portfolio was published by Graphic Art Productions in Mexico City in 1943. All of the sheets have the information pertaining to its number in the sequence and the colour written in English across the top and most sheets have the colour of the proof written in English and Spanish along the bottom.
