Sideboard Table
In form, this boldly architectural sideboard is basically a massive, columnar pier table, a departure from the typical New York sideboard of the period, which has either two enclosed pedestal ends with a center opening for a cellaret or a fully enclosed lower section comprised of four cupboard doors (see 1972.235.1).
