Returned to lender
This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender.
The natural appearance of the magnolia blossoms is achieved through fine color gradations and a sparing use of outlines combined with embossing. The inscribed couplet compares their color to glowing jade. This print recalls contemporary paintings rendered in subtle color washes.
