Later this spring
we shall frolic amid flowers,
since this year’s first sunrise
has brightly tinged the sky
the color of cherry blossoms!

Rays of the morning sun
pierce the eaves where
a New Year’s straw wreath hangs,
as shadows of strands of willow
appear on sliding paper doors.
