"Babe" Ruth "King of Swat" from 1933 Uncle Jacks Candy cards (R317). Manufacturer was based in Springfield, Massachusetts and Newport, Rhode Island. Only one thirty-card set was issued -- in red or blue duotone. White border. Blank back. Cards were sold in a transparent waxpaper pack with one card, gum, and a pink-colored redeemable coupon. The coupon featured advertising for Uncle Jacks and information about a contest to attend the 1933 World Series. Ruth is identified as the "King of Swat" on this card. Pictured in a familiar seated pose.
