"Jianzhao" goosefoot lamp
On loan to The Met
This work of art is currently on loan to the museum.Along with the “Jingning” lamp, on display nearby, this is one of two famous goosefoot lamps exemplifying the high regard for antiquity during the wave of epigraphy in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It was widely published and circulated among scholar-officials and connoisseurs.
