Not on view

A series of humorous Christmas scenes based on an account by the artist's grandfather Mr. Carylon. The latter finds his attraction to Diana growing, but earns the ire of Squire Mallow who challenges his rival to a duel. Using whips as weapons, the two fight in the snow with only soreness resulting. To avoid further trouble, Carylon returns to London and looks longingly at Diana's portrait miniature while eating his dinner.
