Side Chair
Except for a slight variation in the stencilled pattern, this chair and its mate, 1970.187.1, are extremely similar to a settee, 1970.172, attributed to Lambert Hitchcock (1795–1852) of Hitchcockville, Connecticut. The chairs are very similar to other chairs by him, numerous examples of which are known, but further support for an attribution to Hitchcock is lacking.
