Wandteppichzimmer aus Croome Court

Die 1763 entworfene Gipsputzdecke mit ihren ornamentalen Radformen und bekränzten Trophäen ist ein Beispiel für Robert Adams kraftvollen frühen Stil. Im selben Jahr gab der sechste Earl of Coventry die Seide- und Wollwandteppiche bei Jacques Nelsons Werkstatt in der königlichen Gobelinmanufaktur in Paris in Auftrag. Mit Szenen aus klassischen Mythen zur Symbolisierung der Elemente basieren die Medaillons auf Entwürfen von François Boucher. Die vergoldeten Stuhl- und Sofarahmen wurden 1769 in London von den Tischlern John Mayhew und William Ince angefertigt. Die Wandteppiche stammen aus der Gobelinmanufaktur.
