Robert R. Jarvie American

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 774

Robert Jarvie was a defining force in the Chicago Arts and Crafts community. Although best known for his base-metal candlesticks, he expanded his oeuvre to include silver and gold sometime between 1905 and 1910. His work in these precious metals is widely considered to be his finest, and this cup is a particularly interesting and personal example as it was created as a gift for a relative, Robert Jarvie Riddle.
