J. Donzel fils French

Not on view

Donzel, father and son, painted fans for the top Parisian fan makers including Duvelleroy, Kees, and Rodien. They also offered painting courses for women. Many of their fan designs, such as this one, adopt a neo-Rococo style inspired by the eighteenth century and feature courting subjects and amorous themes.
