Stained Glass Window Design: Christ Blessing the Little Children

Heaton, Butler & Bayne British

Not on view

Heaton, Butler and Bayne were London stained glass designers who produced windows for Victorian churches and houses in Britain, America and Europe (the mount of this design is stamped with the Fifth Avenue address of their New York office suggesting the related window may have been installed in an American church). The text inscribed below the four panels, quotes from the Gospel of Matthew (18:4, 19:14), and the related images show Christ blessing children and using a child to teach his Apostles about the nature of faith.
