View of the interior of a church in which the funeral ceremony for prince Charles August of the House of Acania is being held. He is mainly known as the father of the future empress of Russia, Catharine the Great. In the center his casket is placed, covered by draperies. Seven men, dressed in black, flank the casket on either side. The church si decorated with banners and candles. Mourners are depicted in the side aisles paying their respects to the deceased ruler.
