Tweezers

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 453

Tweezers were widely used in the ancient Near Eastern and Roman worlds and were commonly fashioned out of single piece of metal. These tweezers are made of a single piece of bronze with a separate adjustable sliding piece for altering the opening distance.
